My major work for the fourth year of my Visual Communication degree is a children’s picture book that focuses on the beauty of language and alternative ways of communicating.
My major work is grounded in my own experiences growing up without deaf representation in the media, and champions my native language, Auslan, as a full and valuable language equal to spoken language.
The story follows a young deaf girl and a non-verbal monster as they learn to communicate with one another.
Won Best in Show at WSU Design Grad Show 2024.
